Tracks for VRE trains safe for travel again

WASHINGTON — Tracks for Virginia Railway Express trains are safe for travel again, according to VRE.

Earlier Friday, trains were holding north of L’Enfant Plaza due to a fire on the tracks.

“If you can seek alternative transportation please do so, we are working closely with CSX and Amtrak to get trains out and the track cleared as soon as possible,” VRE said in a release.

A Manassas Line train will originate and depart Crystal City at 6:15 p.m and make all stops south until Broad Run, VRE said.
