A 59-year-old man went into cardiac arrest Friday evening on an Amtrak train bound for Vancouver.

Around 5 p.m. Friday, a call came into 911 that a man was having trouble breathing, and when the train was still about 15 minutes from the station he went into cardiac arrest, paramedic and Vancouver Fire Department Capt. Raymond Egan said. People on the train performed CPR until arriving at the station, then firefighters and American Medical Response took over, Egan said.

The man, whose name was not released was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
