Henrico man killed by passing Amtrak train

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Police identified the man killed by a passing Amtrak train in South Richmond as Alfredo C. Sanic, 24, of Hungary Spring Road in Henrico.

“Witnesses stated they observed Sanic walking southbound along the tracks toward the Amtrak train when he was struck,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said about the November 19 incident. “Foul play is not suspected at this time.”

Police were called to the tracks, along the 4500 block of Hull Street, at about 5:55 p.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, Sanic was found deceased.

“The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death,” the police spokesperson said.
