DAIJA FORERO - RMHS Drama Club, Recycling Club, Saint Michaels Award recipient

This week’s Senior Profile highlights the amazing Reading Memorial High 2024 senior, Daija Forero. Daija is a smart, talented, and friendly student from Reading.

Daija is an extremely kind person who works very hard. Daija is an involved student inside and outside of the high school. She puts her best effort into her school, work, and the clubs she is involved in. Daija is a member of Rocket Ambassadors, Class Office, RMHS Drama Club, A World Of Difference, Recycling Club, and School Council. She is an extremely committed member of our community.

This year, Daija is taking some amazing and challenging classes including, World War II European and Pacific Theater, Choir, Epidemic Diseases, Honors Diverse Voices, Financial Algebra, and Honors Horror.

When asked what her most exciting moment of high school was, Daija wrote, “Going to all the school events as well as getting to make new memories.”

Some fun facts about Daija are that her favorite food is buffalo chicken wraps, her favorite dessert is ice cream, and her favorite book is The Selection Series by Kiera Cass. Her favorite musical artist is The Weekend, and her favorite animals are monkeys. When Daija has some free time, she enjoys partaking in theater, music, and politics.

On top of classes, Daija is able to balance being a part of many clubs, including Rocket Ambassadors, Class Office, RMHS Drama Club, A World Of Difference, Recycling Club, and School Council. She is a very determined member of our school and has helped out in many ways.

Daija is also currently employed. Daija works at Launch, a trampoline park located in Woburn, Mass. If you ever stop by, make sure to say hi to Daija!

When asked about where Daija has volunteered, she wrote, “Many of the SOCA 4 EJI events as well as many of the clubs in our community service.”

Daija has received the Saint Michaels Award.

When asked what Daija will remember most about high school, she writes, “I think I will remember the cafeteria ladies, they always had nice chats and really tried caring for the student even though you barely saw them for more than a minute”

Daija is extremely grateful for everyone she has met and has had the pleasure to know. She would like to shout out to her favorite teachers and class at RMHS.

When asked about who Daijas favorite teacher has been these past four years, she wrote, “Mrs Baskin, she is 100 percent real all the time and when you step foot in her classroom she is never judging you well maybe a little but she always gives good advice.”

When asked what Daijas favorite class she's ever taken was, she shares it is Honors Horror.

Daija would like to thank the people that have been there for her the past four years writing, “I would like to thank the cafeteria ladies for being the most supportive gang ever.”

Next year, Daija will be attending college here in Massachusetts at Worcester State University. She will be majoring in criminal justice.

Daija shares her life

with her mother, Jeannine Forero, and three older siblings, Adrisela Forero who is currently 18 years old, Taneja Forero who is currently 22 years old, and Akya Forero who is currently 19 years old.

Daija is an extremely successful member of the Reading community. We are all so proud and thankful for all of the achievements she has accomplished. We cannot wait to see what she accomplishes in the future. We wish her all the best luck for next year.
